Meet Dr. Mneimneh
Samer R Mneimneh, MD is one of Beirut Lebanon's most experienced and best-trained LASIK surgeons. A diplomate of Paris "Ile de France Universities” he is in private ophthalmology practice. Dr. Mneimneh is a member of:
- The Lebanese Ophthalmology Society (LOS)
- The French Ophthalmology Society (SFO)
- The European Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS)
- The "Societe de L’Association Francaise des Implants Intra-Oculaire et de Chirurgie Refractive” (SAFIR)
Dr. Mneimneh attended medical school at Saint Joseph University in Beirut. He completed his residency at the prestigious Pierre et Marie Curie Paris VI University's Centre National d’Ophtalmologie des Quinze-vingts, where he was on the teaching faculty of Longjumeau Medical School.
After his residency, Dr. Mneimneh could have gone out and performed LASIK. Instead, he chose to spend an additional year completing a full fellowship at Professor Jean Haut service where excimer laser was first introduced in France and used in clinical therapy, PRK and Lasik long before its introduction in USA.
Dr. Mneimneh is a well-known and respected educator in his field, and has taught many ophthalmologists how to perform LASIK. He holds appointments at some of the most prominent teaching hospitals in Beirut, including:
- Attending Surgeon at Rafic Hariri University Hospital (RHUH) Beirut
- Attending Surgeon and resident instructor at Makassed General Hospital Beirut
- Medical director at Beirut Lasik Center
Dr. Mneimneh has presented at the national meetings of Lebanese Ophthalmology Society, the Middle East African Council of Ophthalmology (MEACO), and the French Society of Ophthalmology. He teaches Optometry at the College of Optometry, Lebanese University.
